Lovexair launches the Global 'Clean Air, Healthy Lives' Campaign to highlight the impact of air pollution on our lung health.
The campaign invites the world's population to assess their lung health using the online 'Check@ir' questionnaire and contribute to creating the first Global Lung Health Map.
Understanding the impact of air pollution and other potential risk factors on people's lung health, whether or not they have a diagnosed respiratory condition. This is the goal of the global campaign "Global Campaign“, which was just presented by the Lovexair Foundation, together with a growing number of institutions and civic organizations, including the Colombian foundations Fiquires, Inspirat, Funcolehf, Ayúdanos a Respirar, Latin Health Leaders, and GAAPP.
The campaign invites people around the world to use the online "Check@ir" questionnaire to self-assess their lung health and, at the same time, contribute to the creation of the first Global Lung Health Map.
“Check@ir” and the Global Lung Health Map
“Check@ir” is a simple online questionnaire Designed to assess, from the citizen's experience, the impact that pollution and other exposures have on their respiratory health, in order to identify and prioritize specific social and health actions.
Its use makes it easy for anyone, whether or not they have a diagnosed respiratory condition, to assess their lung health in just 3 minutes. This allows them to better understand which risk factors, such as exposure to outdoor and indoor air pollution, may be harming them, as well as assess the management of respiratory conditions such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), two of the most prevalent and fastest-growing noncommunicable diseases in our healthcare systems.
Check@ir is easily accessible via a QR code and is currently available in three languages (English, Spanish, and Brazilian/Portuguese), with plans to expand to more languages in the next phase. Upon completion of the assessment, the individual receives a personalized report that they can take to their doctor to jointly assess how to improve their care or treatment and more effectively protect their lung health.
Data from the Global Lung Health Map
By using “Check@ir”, the data provided by people, with their consent, are integrated into the first Global Lung Health Map.This map provides researchers and health professionals with key information on diagnosed and undiagnosed respiratory diseases.
This data repository with analytics allows for the assessment of trends and risk factors specific to different communities at the global, regional, and local levels, thus facilitating the definition and prioritization of preventive strategies tailored to each territory or community. In a next phase, the figures are planned to be cross-referenced with pollution monitoring data.

Why a global campaign
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 7 million people worldwide die prematurely each year due to air pollution. Many of these deaths are due to ischemic heart disease and stroke, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, acute lower respiratory tract infections, and lung cancer.
Alarmingly, 99% of the world's population breathes air that exceeds WHO air quality guidelines, affecting millions of people daily. These figures underscore the urgent need to promote clean air environments and encourage early detection of respiratory diseases on a global scale.
In this context, there are a growing number of global initiatives from leading organizations committed to increasing investment and funding for health policies and developing actions that ensure a healthier society with greater well-being.

Lovexair with the WHO: official presentation in Cartagena de Indias (Colombia)
The Lovexair Foundation will present the Check@ir campaign and questionnaire on a global scale on March 25th, within the framework of the II Conference on Air Quality and Health organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) in Cartagena de Indias (Colombia).
Lovexair has been officially selected by the WHO to lead the screening of the documentary “breathe mom”, a first-person story that tells the story of Meri and her daughter Nina, who is affected by Alpha-1, a rare condition that makes her especially vulnerable to air pollution.
Lovexair will then organize a Expert Panel composed of representatives from the United Nations, the World Health Organization, the European Respiratory Society (ERS), and civic organizations who will discuss the need to promote measures that protect people's health and integrate the right to breathe clean air into public policies.
In addition, he will participate with Colombian foundations in an activity organized by European Lung Foundation, European Respiratory Society y World Heart Federation to promote lung and heart health and raise awareness about the impact of air pollution through lung function tests and oximetry.
