The weekly publication specializing in the world of professional pharmacy awarded the Respirar es vida candidacy as one of the Best Pharmacy Initiatives 2017.
Madrid, April 10, 2018.- Gemma Patricia Aguado, Product Manager of Chiesi Spain, collected the award for the Respira es Vida program, an initiative developed since 2013 and that includes training actions in pharmacies to raise awareness of the importance of diseases respiratory diseases and make life easier for people who have these pathologies.
The Chiesi Spain campaign, endorsed by the Lovexair Foundation, has been awarded by the newspaper Correo Farmacéutico as one of the Best Pharmacy Initiatives 2017 in the category of Pharmaceutical care and health education.
This is a campaign developed by Chiesi and in which the Lovexair Foundation has collaborated since its inception with the aim of contributing to the knowledge and awareness of the population about asthma and COPD, two of the most prevalent respiratory diseases.
Through this initiative, practical and quality information developed by health professionals is provided. All the activities carried out around this project are aimed at patients suffering from asthma and COPD, relatives, caregivers and health professionals.
In this sense, it should be noted that more than three million adults with asthma in Spain are not properly controlled. One of the causes is due to the inappropriate use of inhalers.
On the other hand, through this initiative, awareness-raising actions are also carried out on the occasion of World COPD Day, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Disease that, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), is the fourth cause of death in the world.
For this reason, awareness campaigns such as Respirar es Vida contribute to expanding knowledge about these pathologies and, consequently, improve the quality of life of patients with respiratory diseases.
During the event, Shane Fitch, president of the Lovexair Foundation, expressed her gratitude for promoting the Breathing is Life campaign together with Chiesi. Thanks to this collaboration, the Lovexair Foundation has the opportunity to accompany citizens to expand their knowledge about their respiratory health. Likewise, through this initiative, support and training is offered to all those patients who have asthma, COPD and other rare respiratory diseases.
Through these awards, the weekly publication Correo Farmacéutico recognizes the daily work of those people, institutions or companies that with their contribution have contributed to improving the world of pharmacy and pharmaceutical care.
