In the month of World Lung Day, we unite our voices in the #BreatheTogether campaign
From Lovexair we promote a campaign, as in previous years, to raise awareness about the importance of caring for the environment and its impact on our respiratory health
Pollution can cause respiratory diseases or aggravate pre-existing pathologies, even increasing the risk of lung cancer. For this reason, we join several leading patient organizations in Ibero-America to promote the right to breathe clean air, for our present and, above all, for future generations.
It is essential to work together and raise our voices for our right to breathe clean air. We must unite to raise awareness about how climate change and pollution directly affect our lung health. Health and the environment can no longer be conceived as two separate aspects, when they are intimately related. For this reason, it is very important to work together, with all the stakeholders, to unite efforts and improve people's lives. We are all part of the same planet. Together we are better! Shane Fitch – President and CEO Lovexair Foundation.
A new challenge: Towards unified health (OneHealth)
Globalization, environmental pollution, climate change and pandemics highlight the close relationship between our health and the environment. Therefore, in November 2021, various international organizations –Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), World Health Organization (WHO), World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) and the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP)– established a new definition of the One Health concept in which they recognize that the health of humans, animals, plants and ecosystems are interdependent and closely linked.
One Health is a holistic and unifying concept, which integrates different disciplines in order to be able to globally analyze animal and human diseases with the environment.
#WeBreatheTogether
The #BreatheTogether campaign is promoted on social networks and will aim to publicize the close relationship between lung health care, air quality and the environment. The launch was on September 7 to join the "International Clean Air Day" and will end on the 25th of the same month on World Lung Day.
