March 10, 2019, a beautiful sunny day at Carcavelos beach, Lisbon. A young Portuguese professional surfing community and the Lombos school helped Lovexair and our Happyair ambassador, Arran Strong, organize an awareness event for World Rare Disease Day.

The event consisted of surf therapy and yoga. The objective was the promotion of lung health, physical activity and breathing for the benefit of the affected individuals and families.

Our Happyair Ambassador has Alpha-1, but that doesn't stop him from trying to live his big dream. At Lovexair we meet special people from all over the world who defy their illness no matter what - the sea air and good vibes really help us all to change how we feel and take the first simple steps to share our experience, meet to other people to inspire and explore how we can live our lives differently.

The event consists of surf and yoga therapies with the aim of promoting lung health, physical activity and breathing for the benefit of affected people and their families.

Our Happyair ambassador has Alpha-1 but you don't need to try to live your high life. At Lovexair we meet special people from all over the world who defy their illness, no matter what: the sea air and the “good wave” can help everyone feel different and live a different way of life, as well as impulses . sharing our experience and inspiring other people.

It was on March 10, 2019, at Carcavelos beach in Lisbon, that an awareness campaign for World Rare Disease Day was carried out. It seemed like a true summer day, ideal for bringing together a group of young professional surfers, Lombos School and Happyair ambassador Arran Strong, who together organized a surf lesson and a yoga class. The main objective was to promote lung and respiratory health and physical activity as an essential factor in the lives of respiratory patients and their families.

Arran Strong, as an ambassador for Happyair and diagnosed with Alpha1 (alpha1 antitrypsin deficiency), is unaffected by this genetic condition and continues to pursue his dream. At Lovexair we find very special people all over the world, who fearlessly challenge his illness. The sea air and positive energies really help us condition our mood and take the initiative to share our experience and meet new people who inspire us and explore other ways of life.
