Practical Tips For Correct Use Of Air Conditioning
Pulmonology services launch a series of recommendations every year that help us refresh our summers while we attend to our health.
To avoid the health complications that incorrect use of air conditioning can entail, each year the pulmonology services launch a series of recommendations that help us cool down our summers while taking care of our health. Some of the indications are:
The temperature of air conditioning units, both in homes and in means of transport, should never drop below 22º. Ideally, it should remain constant at around 5º-24º and with a relative humidity of 26% to 35%.
In the coldest places, while the body acclimatizes, it is advisable to wear some light clothing.
While we remain in an air-conditioned place, we must drink plenty of fluids because the nasal mucosa dry out, which causes respiratory discomfort. These recommendations are essential in patients with respiratory pathologies such as asthma or COPD.
Filters in air conditioning machines must be washed and/or changed frequently to prevent the formation and spread of pathogens.
Follow the advice and enjoy your summer without harming your health!
