From the Lovexair Foundation we want to offer you some tips to manage allergies. First of all, it is important to go to a specialist doctor so that the disease can be correctly diagnosed. He may do some tests to determine what type of allergy you have, and prescribe some medication.
The most commonly used drugs are antihistamines and corticosteroids. Antihistamines prevent histamine from binding to the histamine receptor, thus blocking its effects – thus preventing the allergic reaction from being triggered. Corticosteroids have anti-inflammatory action and suppress the reaction of our immune system in order to reduce allergic symptoms. They are usually administered by inhalation, thus reducing possible adverse effects without affecting efficacy.

Depending on the type of pollen to which our body is sensitized, there are more critical months of the year than others, but in a large number of cases it is in spring when more symptoms occur. This is because between the months of March and June there is a greater amount of pollen in the air we breathe.
It is also essential to control allergies to avoid contact with allergens, that is, you should avoid places with a high concentration of pollen: parks, gardens... If you do, protect your eyes, mouth and nose. If you have been in contact with pollen in the street, when you get home you should remove the pollen particles that you may be carrying with you: wash your clothes with hot water and take a shower: the less time you are in contact with the allergens, the better.
When ventilating your house, avoid doing it when it is windy and keep the windows open for ten minutes, that time is enough for a room to be ventilated.

house dust
Another common cause of allergy is dust. It is actually a hypersensitivity to a microscopic mite that lives in dust. You must do home cleaning with a mask. Prevent dust from accumulating on clothes and objects by keeping them in closets, the less decoration there is in sight, the less dust will accumulate. This also includes rugs, carpets, stuffed animals... Don't forget to clean the floors frequently and don't forget to vacuum the curtains and upholstery.
Finally, if your allergy is to animals, it is advisable, as we have already mentioned, to avoid contact with the allergen. If it is your pet that causes the hypersensitivity of your body, once you no longer live with it, it is important to thoroughly clean the house as explained above: vacuum carpets, curtains, sofas, floors and wash with hot water. It will still take a while for your symptoms to go away. If it is impossible to avoid contact with the animal, try not to touch it or wash your hands immediately after doing so. Your pet should not enter your bedroom, it should sleep in a place away from your rest area and be cleaned frequently.
