Our Commitment to Respiratory Health

We are a non-profit organization dedicated to the care, support and guidance of people with respiratory pathologies and to the support of healthcare professionals.

The foundation was established in 2011 by Shane Fitch, mother of a young man with Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency (AATD), a genetic condition that predisposes people who suffer from it to the possibility of developing lung or liver diseases.

Since our beginnings, we have promoted projects and campaigns to raise public awareness about respiratory health. We also research and create new knowledge and capabilities in digital health, from which we have developed the HappyAir Community, an ecosystem of clinical, educational and social resources for comprehensive patient care, well-being and a better quality of life.
