Background to project concept
One of the projects initiated in 2009 is to produce a short documentary on COPD, a chronic respiratory disease, associated with alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency as the prime genetic cause.
The documentary aims to achieve several objectives amongst which figure the following:

One of the projects initiated in 2009 is to produce a short documentary on COPD, a chronic respiratory disease, associated with alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency as the prime genetic cause.
The documentary aims to achieve several objectives amongst which figure the following:
- Alert the viewer to the problems surrounding COPD.
- Show that in some cases , there is also a special cause for COPD: alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency and the simple process required to diagnose this condition.
- Offer information which is useful for patients, family carers, institutions and health services, etc.
- Give hope to the community affected by COPD.
